The 2026 (North America) 5th Biomedical Pitch Competition, co-hosted by the Boston Capital Investment Club (BCIC) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), recently concluded in Boston, USA.
META stood out from approximately 170 global applicants, winning third place and becoming one of the few representative innovators from Greater China among the finalists.
The BCIC Biomedical Pitch Competition is widely regarded as a key platform connecting early-stage biotech companies with global capital, multinational pharmaceutical companies, and industry acceleration resources. This year’s competition maintained its high screening standards — selecting only 17 finalist teams and 4 pitch teams from approximately 170 global applicants, covering innovative drugs, medical devices, and diagnostics.
The competition brought together over 200 angel/venture capital funds and industry leaders, with the final round live-streamed to over 20,000 online viewers. The judging panel included prestigious institutions such as HKSTP, Northern Light Venture Capital, TCG Crossover, RA Capital, Chugai Venture Capital, Kendall Capital Partners, PagodaTree Partners, and Eisai Innovation. Its ecosystem support network extends to Harvard Innovation Labs, Harvard Wyss Institute, Stanford Healthcare Innovation Lab, and top industry venture arms including AbbVie Ventures, F Prime, and Amgen Venture.
Notably, the BCIC competition’s “value realization” capability has been demonstrated by past winners: since its inception in 2022, the competition has helped participating companies secure over USD 300 million in funding.
This award represents international recognition of META’s immunometabolism scientific approach. Moving forward, META will continue to advance the clinical translation of its core pipeline, deepen strategic dialogue with global investors and multinational pharmaceutical companies, and accelerate the transformation of original science into innovative therapies benefiting patients worldwide.
