META, as one of 38 park companies featured by HKSTP, presented MP-5342, the world’s first oral small molecule inhibitor of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.
During ASGH, HKSTP established a cutting-edge biomedical showcase featuring a series of breakthrough biomedical solutions, three of which were highlighted as representative “world-first” technologies.
META was selected for MP-5342: the world’s first LDH inhibitor for autoimmune diseases including inflammatory bowel disease and multiple sclerosis, offering improved convenience via oral dosing and providing safer, more effective anti-inflammatory treatment.
META was represented at ASGH by Dr. Anjin Xianyu, Co-Founder and CTO, and Mr. Tianxiang Tang, Managing Partner and Head of Fundraising, who engaged in discussions with industry experts, investment representatives, and potential partners from around the world.
As the world’s first oral LDH small molecule inhibitor, MP-5342’s preclinical data has become a focal point of industry interest. Preclinical data show that MP-5342 has a safety window exceeding 600-fold, far surpassing the industry standard safety threshold (typically >40-fold).
Dr. Anjin Xianyu, Co-Founder and CTO of META, stated in an interview with China Daily: “We are not iterating on existing therapies; we are introducing a brand-new treatment mechanism. MP-5342 has the potential to offer patients a better treatment option — better efficacy, fewer side effects, and more convenient use.”
