Recently, META and Shanghai Xellera Technology Co., Ltd. (“Xellera”) officially signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. The two parties will collaborate deeply in areas including humanized organ-on-a-chip, immunometabolism mechanism research, and AI-driven drug screening, aiming to upgrade the preclinical evaluation system for autoimmune disease drug discovery and build a next-generation translational medicine and drug R&D technology system.

Dr. Xin Xie, Founder and CEO of Xellera, commented:

Autoimmune diseases are highly complex and exhibit significant individual variability. Traditional animal models have limitations in predicting human responses. This collaboration will connect META’s immunometabolism research foundation with Xellera’s humanized organ-on-a-chip and AI capabilities, establishing a more direct link between mechanistic research and drug evaluation, thereby accelerating the clinical translation of innovative therapies.

Dr. Ke Xu, Founder and CEO of META, commented:

Xellera has extensive technical expertise in organ-on-a-chip, 3D imaging, and AI analytics, which aligns well with the current advancement stage of META’s lead pipeline, MP-5342. We are pleased to enter this strategic collaboration and look forward to leveraging Xellera’s platform to support MP-5342’s efficient progression through preclinical translation, providing a robust foundation for subsequent IND filing.

This collaboration marks the official launch of systematic synergy at the intersection of “Immunometabolism × Organ-on-a-Chip × AI,” driving autoimmune disease drug development toward higher predictability and greater translational efficiency.

Moving forward, META will continue to advance MP-5342 and its other pipelines based on core immunometabolism mechanisms. Concurrently, the company will also expand collaborations with cutting-edge technology platforms, build a more comprehensive preclinical translational research system, and accelerate the journey of innovative therapies with original mechanisms and clinical value toward the clinic.
